Poster map: A double-sided poster map of Barovia and Castle Ravenloft, I haven't looked at the Castle Ravenloft side for spoiler purposes, but the Barovian side is nice quality and these maps are always super helpful to assist adventures. These are a good size and of nice quality, and I can see them working well in a physical campaign. Tarokka Deck: a box of nicely illustrated tarot cards for in-game readings. The contents of the box include: a DM screen, Tarokka card deck and handout book, some player handouts, a monster book, the 'revamped' adventure, some postcards, a picture of Strahd, and a double-sided poster map.ĭM Screen: this is a nice, solid cardboard screen with the usual info to aid the DM in the heat of the moment, on the flipside are some nice images of iconic locations from the adventure: Krezk, the Death House, Old Bonegrinder, and Castle Ravenloft. What's more the box itself is massive, and most of it is just thick cardboard and empty space (a really nice design but quite impractical to store, especially when the contents are so much smaller than it. However, this is more of a review of the Premium Edition product, which contains some good stuff but also some unnecessary padding. Which is where most of the star rating for this product comes from. Both of these things are important, and it's good that WOTC has addressed them. I'm currently playing the campaign now with some friends and we are having a brilliant time, however it is not without its problems in this day and age, and in light of growing awareness of the importance of inclusivity, the adventure has had a bit of a re-write to deal with some racial insensitivities and the way it treats differently abled characters.
